Data record gloss.apparent-charge.usage

Verified 2026-10-27 Confidence: High

In instrument practice the conventional measuring circuit is calibrated once it is in place so that the apparent charge the instrument reports in picocoulombs represents the discharges occurring inside the asset, referred to the test terminals. Non-conventional methods that capture the high-frequency electromagnetic transients of a discharge cannot be calibrated in this way and report their results in decibel units instead.
